European Award of Medium Sized Companies 2004/2005 to Zhu Rongji

CMN supported the organisation of the Award Ceremony of the Award of the European Medium-sized Companies by the Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany Mr. Gerhard Schröder to the laureate, the former Premier of the People’s Republic of China Mr. Zhu Rongji in December 2004 in Beijing.

The UMU (Union of Medium Sized Companies) represents over 68000 small and medium sized companies in Europe. The prior laureate had been the former US-President Bill Clinton in 2002.

The award had been endowed with 100.000 $ US. Zhu Rongji donated the full amount to the Department of Economics of the renowned Qinghua University, Beijing; - in order to encourage the managerial and scientific exchange between China and Germany.
